As a mother and former public-school teacher, Sandy understands that education is not a one size fits all solution and strongly believes the money should follow the child. Returning authority back to parents to choose the right academic program for their children through a voucher system is imperative to the success of the individual student and will result in a higher quality education for ALL Virginians.

Sandy also believes we can do so much more to prepare students for life after high school. Sandy will work diligently to increase funding for Virginia high schools to strengthen and grow vocational programs that will increase career opportunities for students who are not college-bound. Sandy will also work to address the rising tuition costs for public state colleges that are leaving students and parents with crushing student loan debt.
